Charging and backup power for Metroplex homes
From older homes in Dallas and Fort Worth to new builds in Frisco, Prosper and McKinney, most Metroplex garages can take a full-speed charger. Two-EV households are common here, and power sharing or load management usually covers both cars without a panel upgrade.
North Texas also gets ice storms and summer peaks that strain the grid, so plenty of our DFW customers add a battery, a generator or vehicle-to-home at the same time.
What we install in Dallas–Fort Worth
One licensed crew for charging and backup power, so the charger, the battery and the panel work are planned together.
EV chargers
Tesla and Emporia chargers from stock, or the one you already have. Hardwired at up to 48A, with load management when the panel is tight.
Battery backup
Tesla Powerwall 3 and other home batteries, sized for the circuits you want to keep running in an outage.
Generators
Generac and Kohler standby generators for whole-home backup, on natural gas or propane.
Vehicle-to-home
Tesla Powershare and GM Energy V2H, so your EV can power the house when the grid goes down.
Commercial charging
Level 2 and DC fast charging for apartments, workplaces, dealerships and fleets.
Panel capacity
Load management first when the panel is tight. A service upgrade, or a SPAN smart panel, when the panel is too old or too small.
DFW know-how
Most of the Metroplex is on Oncor’s wires, but cities like Denton and Garland run their own utilities, and every city has its own permit office.
Pricing
What a home charger install costs
Almost all of it is distance. Every foot between your panel and where you park is wire, conduit and labor.
Up to 10 ft
$800
Panel in the garage, charger on a nearby wall.
10 to 50 ft
$1,300
Across the garage, through an attic, or around a corner.
50 ft and up
$2,000+
Detached garage, a second-story run, or a trench.
Typical installs. Prices don’t include the charger, permits, panel upgrades or load management, and assume your panel can carry a Level 2 charger. Need a charger? We’ll add one from stock to your quote.

What customers say
Dallas–Fort Worth questions
Who handles a service upgrade in DFW?
If your home is on Oncor, Oncor handles the meter and the service drop, and we handle the panel and the rest of the electrical work. We coordinate the two so you don’t have to.
Do I need a permit for an EV charger in Dallas or Fort Worth?
Usually, for a new charger circuit inside city limits. Each city has its own process, and many require the contractor to be registered with that city. We take care of it.
Can an outdoor charger handle hail and ice?
Yes. Outdoor-rated chargers are built for it, and we run weatherproof conduit on every install. If you can, a spot under the eave or inside the garage protects the cable too.
We have two EVs. Do we need two circuits?
Not always. Tesla Wall Connectors can share one circuit and split power between two cars. Otherwise each charger gets its own circuit, with load management if the panel is tight.
Do you install batteries and generators in DFW?
Yes. We install Tesla Powerwall 3 and other home batteries, Generac and Kohler standby generators, and Tesla Powershare and GM Energy vehicle-to-home systems.
